Self-Reset Schemes for Magnetic Domain Wall-Based Neuron

چکیده
Spintronic artificial spiking neurons are promising due to their ability closely mimic the leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) dynamics of biological LIF neuron. However, neuron needs be reset after firing. Few spintronic that have been proposed in literature discuss process detail. In this article, we various schemes achieve a magnetic domain wall (DW)-based which position DW represents membrane potential. all studied, enters refractory period and is when reaches particular position. We show self-reset operation devices consumes energy can vary from several pJ few fJ, highlights importance strategy improving efficiency neurons.

Metastable magnetic domain wall dynamics
The dynamics of metastable magnetic domain walls in straight ferromagnetic nanowires under spin waves, external magnetic fields and currentinduced spin-transfer torque are studied by means of micromagnetic simulations. It is found that in contrast to a stable wall, it is possible to displace a metastable domain wall in the absence of external excitation. In addition, independent of the domain w...

متن کاملUniversality classes of magnetic domain wall motion.
We examine magnetic domain wall motion in metallic nanowires Pt-Co-Pt. Regardless of whether the motion is driven by either magnetic fields or current, all experimental data fall onto a single universal curve in the creep regime, implying that both the motions belong to the same universality class. This result is in contrast to the report on magnetic semiconductor (Ga,Mn)As exhibiting two diffe...

This summer project reproduces the foam experiment from previous summer but with oilwater emulsions. Increasing the viscosity of oil changes the droplets from soft to hard as well as the behavior from Newtonian liquid to granular matter. The expected outcome is Bachelor’s or Master’s Thesis or similar report depending on applicant’s background. The applicant is expected to have keen interest in...
